Devotion

Our God has unlimited resources to meet every need we have. He is "Jehovah Jireh"—the Lord our Provider.

Abraham discovered this when God asked him to sacrifice Isaac. As Abraham lifted his knife to obey God's command, the Lord stopped him and provided a ram in Isaac's place—right on time (Genesis 22:1–14).

We also see Jehovah Jireh in Hagar's story. As she sat weeping in the wilderness because she had no water left for Ishmael, God opened her eyes to a nearby well and provided exactly what they needed (Genesis 21:14–19).

Notice that God saw Hagar in her difficult circumstance and came to her aid. He saw her tears and provided exactly what she needed.

Know this today: God sees you too. He sees every challenge you are facing. He sees every tear you have shed over your child. Just as He came to Hagar in the wilderness, He will come to you in His perfect time and provide the help you need.

The Bible says:

"For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are fully devoted to Him."

—2 Chronicles 16:9

Jesus also reminds us:

"Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things."

—Matthew 6:32

God is watching over His children. He sees every circumstance and is able to provide every need.

So what do you need today?

What do your children need?

Jesus said:

"Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full."

—John 16:24

Bring every request to Jehovah Jireh.

Whether you need daily provision, wisdom, strength, healing, peace, or direction, God has more than enough. His resources never run out.

The God who provided for Abraham and Hagar is still providing for His children today.

Reflection

Today, as you go about your day or during a quiet moment, reflect on Jehovah Jireh—the Lord your Provider.

What need are you carrying today?

What do your children need to thrive?

Read Matthew 6:31–33 slowly. Before Jesus tells us not to worry, He reminds us that our heavenly Father already knows what we need.

Bring every need before Him today. Trust Him, continue to walk in obedience to His Word, and rest in the confidence that Jehovah Jireh will provide in His perfect time.
